One of our most time-critical projects: we were approached in January, when the City of Kamloops was no longer going to service or maintain the old pump station supplying 41 farms. Working alongside Ford Water Solutions, we had water pumping by May for irrigation season.
A dock built for servicing
Our design at the river allows the dock motors and other components to be removed individually for servicing, and the dock itself to be fully removed for winterization and preventative maintenance. Working with BC Hydro, we brought in a new 600A 600V three-phase dip service with a pad-mount transformer.
Two systems, one mainline
The project consists of two systems working in tandem to feed one mainline. Each system pairs a 50HP centrifugal pump on a custom articulating dock, run on soft starters, with a 150HP VFD-controlled centrifugal booster pump. The joined mainline now serves 25 farming clients, from small ranchers to larger operations like Privato Winery.
Designed, commissioned, still serviced
Dayton Power designed and commissioned this site and continues to service it. The controls include multiple pressure transducers, flow meters and a cellular link that automatically adjusts and monitors system requirements and outputs.
